Hi Everyone,

Pita Mann shows us how she used surrogate EFT to lift the burden of a major "love pain" for her son.

Hugs, Gary

By Pita Mann

I am an EFT newbie, but I believe in Gary's advice to try it on everything.  My son, 16, who lives with his father, stopped by to see me on his way back from a weekend outing he went on with his girlfriend and her parents.  The girl was the first one he had strong feelings for, so imagine my dismay when he phoned me that evening and said she’d split up with him after they got home.  He said he felt so terrible he thought he would throw up.  He added that although he had homework to do, he couldn’t do it at all AND he wasn’t going to go to school at all the next day.

I said I was sorry he was feeling so sad, but I was going to tap for him and all he had to do was call me if he started feeling better.  (He had no knowledge whatsoever of EFT). Even though I feel really sad and hurt she broke up with me, I accept myself, I’m a great guy.

I tapped a couple of rounds and even did the 9-gamut procedure.  About 30 minutes later, the phone rang and my son said, “I don’t know about this tapping stuff, but I feel a whole lot better.”  I asked him that if his level of intensity was a 10 out of 10 when we talked before, how he would rate himself now.  He said he was about a 3 out of 10.

I said I would tap some more for him, then called him back to see how he felt.  He said his level of intensity was 2 or 2.5, and he added that he didn’t have to get over it completely now, probably because of cognitively recognizing and honoring the importance of the relationship to him and not realizing he could get over it completely.

He said he was doing his homework. I asked if anything else came up for him related to the breakup and he said he was “kinda afraid to not have a girlfriend.”  I said I would tap for that and he should let me know if he went down to zero.  He said he really felt completely fine.  It was getting late and I didn’t hear back from him.

I called him the next day to ask him how he felt.  He said he felt a little weird for a bit of the day at school, but that passed and he felt fine.  The emotional freedom feeling lasted and when I checked in with him slightly more than a week later, he referred to the breakup as happening “weeks ago.” He said tapping is “voodoo,” but he was open to learning how to do it for himself.
