Performance anxiety at a music camp

Gary, I just got back from a choral music camp in the White Mountains of New Hampshire - a beautiful, spiritual experience.

The first day I attended, as a spectator, a Master Class at which people were given the opportunity to sing for the group and receive feedback/criticism from the voice teacher. I realized, immediately, that this was fertile ground for EFT.

The next day I offered an hour long workshop on EFT for Performance Anxiety, and had 27 people attend. About half of the group could not access their anxiety unless they were in the actual situation so I used those folks to teach the entire Recipe to all the participants, explaining that they would know whether it worked or not only when they had a chance to test it out in real life.

Having taught the entire Recipe I then had all the rest, those who could get a SUDS [0-10 intensity], stand up. We did the Set-Up and the first Sequence, and I instructed those who were at a zero to sit down. I repeated that procedure with the 9 Gamut treatment, and the second sequence. I needed to do the Mini-reversal for a few who remained standing, and finally had only one standing whom I worked with alone after the class. She needed Collarbone Breathing. Word got out very rapidly, and I was asked to do another class the next day. In all, I offered it three times, and did several individual sessions.

There were two "miracle" stories, which, of course are commonplace to us, but were miraculous to the people involved. One young woman, crippled, had a lot of trauma around her handicap, her early music experiences and her family. Last year she had nearly thrown up before her Master Class. This year, after covering several aspects beforehand with EFT she was able to sail through it. She only experienced a bit of anxiety when she held up her book and started to sing, an aspect that we had not covered. Once into her piece she sang so beautifully that the voice teacher's only comment was, "M. I have nothing to say. It was beautiful." What a gift of self-esteem for this young woman for whom everything in life is a struggle.

The second "miracle" was a woman who had been unable to call up her anxiety during the EFT session, but did a Master Class the next day "without a flutter."

Thank you, Gary for this gift which keeps on giving. I feel so blessed to have it to share.

Keep the victory!

With love and hugs,

Nancy Gnecco
