Hi Everyone,

Thanks to Susan Gilbert for taking a deeper look into this issue. In her words, "... even though the gamut may not be a necessary part of tapping, it helped me diagnose the possible "social phobia", which is an actual DSM-IV diagnostic category. Thanks for the Miracles!!"

Hugs, Gary

By Susan Gilbert

Hi Gary,

In working with shyness and stuttering clients--two extremely shy high school students and a paramedic who stuttered--the 9-gamut sequence was a great tool for noticing their "inability" to speak in front of people. For each of them, when we went though the long sequence, and came to the humming part of the 9-gamut, they choked up and blushed profusely, sweating and even trembling. I assigned them to go home and do the tapping until the symptoms went away. They each came back able to hum out loud, and the stuttering completely stopped for the paramedic. One of the high school students brought his new girl friend (he had never had a date and was a senior), because he knew I wouldn't believe that he just went up to her and told her he liked her and would she be interested in going out.

So, even though the gamut may not be a necessary part of tapping, it helped me diagnose the possible "social phobia", which is an actual DSMIV diagnostic category. Thanks for the Miracles!! Susan Gilbert
