Hi Everyone,

This case should be especially useful for newcomers because it gives a simple path for applying EFT to many, many issues.  Pamela Bird, from Australia, had a fear of placing her face underwater and, to discern the various issues involved, she did nothing more than notice how she felt after each round of tapping.  This simple process resulted in freedom from her fear.

I started using EFT with my clients approximately 12 months ago after completing a 3 day course with Dr David Lake and Steve Wells. I had great success for all sorts of emotional issues and some phobias. I decided that if it worked for my clients then I should practice what I preach and try it for my fear of putting my face in the water when I swim. I have never been able to put my face in the water although I loved being in the water and could swim otherwise.

Ten years ago I had swimming lessons to help me overcome this fear and was able to force myself to complete the laps required but was not able to do it once the lessons finished.

When I decided to start EFT on myself last summer I got in the pool and focused in on what I was feeling. The first feeling was that I might drown so I tapped a sequence on that.

After that I still could not put my face in the water so I again focused in on what I was feeling and this time it was that I might not get enough air. After this I was able to put my face in the water and actually able to glide along the pool but not able to move my arms because I then felt extremely uncomfortable.

I then tapped on water splashing on my face and then I was able to swim the length of the pool with my face in the water, breath correctly and not worry about the water splashing on my face. I was so excited.

Everyday for the rest of the season I was able to swim with my face in the water. All this at 58 years of age.
