Validating EFT with Neurofeedback

Important Note: This article was written prior to 2010 and is now outdated. Please use my newest advancement, Optimal EFT. It is more efficient, more powerful and clearly explained in my free e-book, The Unseen Therapist™.  Best wishes, Gary

Hi Everyone,

Neurofeedback experts Gary Groesbeck and Donna Bach have used EFT extensively with brain wave monitoring. In this article, they verify what we often see while using EFT with our Movie Technique. They say, "We are now enthusiastically using EFT on all our clients while they are receiving their neurofeedback training, because it has proven to be the quickest way to achieve the benefits they desire!"

Hugs, Gary

Imagination can be visibly measured with neurofeedback equipment showing the brain waves that indicate that the person is accessing the subconscious mind. Over  the last year we have had the opportunity to monitor beneficial brain wave changes while people are receiving EFT sessions; showing what is happening to the person’s brain waves in the moment in front of live audiences, first with Gary Craig in San Francisco and Boston and then at an EFT conference in Ilkley, UK.

We now have a good insight into exactly what is occurring when an EFT practitioner is using the “Movie Technique”, or another technique like Gwyneth Moss’s ‘Imagineering’. Brain wave changes mirror our own internal experience. For instance when you are in a day-dreamy state, with eyes partially open or fully closed, mentally drifting, and maybe seeing in your mind’s eye a past event or perhaps someplace you might like to be, you are most likely in what we call an “alpha brain wave” state.

Now what are you really doing? You are using all of your senses to create an internal picture or image. We call this sensualization, creating a picture using all of your senses. This creates the alpha brain wave state and this is exactly what you do when you use the movie technique. You create a ‘mind’s eye movie’ of the issue you wish to address, and this creates the alpha brain wave pattern.

Why is this important? Because it is this state that acts as the bridge to the specific underlying emotions that are stored in the deeper subconscious. We recognize them as Theta waves, and those are the important issues we are intending to resolve. This is why the Movie Technique or any of the techniques that use all of the senses are so powerful, they set up the brain wave energy state necessary to bring about the healing release we see with EFT. The EFT tapping then brings about a re-normalization of brain energy into healthier patterns which are visible in real time, showing a much faster beneficial change than typical neurofeedback or biofeedback sessions usually accomplish.

We are now enthusiastically using EFT on all our clients while they are receiving their neurofeedback training, because it has proven to be the quickest way to achieve the benefits they desire!
