An interesting way to do EFT in a group

Hi Everyone,

Sharon Long, who does EFT in groups, says, "Now we do this kind of group tapping to begin our meetings.  It affords everyone a chance to speak early in the meeting and to give the other participants, as well as themselves, an idea of where they are in the moment."

Hugs, Gary

By Sharon F. Long

A lot of the people in my EFT groups are accustomed to practicing meditation in a group.  Thus, when I learned EFT a year ago, it was natural for me to think about doing EFT in groups.  Recently we had a wonderful breakthrough with the group tapping.

One of the participants, Vicky (not her real name) was tapping about her 9-year old daughter.  At a point in the second sequence she said, "I wish I could do more for my daughter."  We finished her Basic Recipe.

Then we went around the circle, clockwise, each person saying, "I wish I could do more for..." and they said the name applicable to their situation.  The group repeated what each person said.

As we went from person to person, we moved from tapping point to point, excluding the fingers and the 9 Gamut.  If a person didn't want to participate, they simply said, "Pass."

We went around the circle twice and when we came to Vicky for the third time, she said, "I wish I could do more for all children." That seemed like the perfect place to end the group tapping! To me it felt like a very high moment in our group.

Now we do this kind of group tapping to begin our meetings.  It affords everyone a chance to speak early in the meeting and to give the other participants, as well as themselves, an idea of where they are in the moment.

Additionally, we also now incorporate this kind of group tapping in the surrogate tapping we do at the end of each meeting.  It's always felt very wonderful to end our meetings with surrogate tapping for the loved one of someone present.  By including this person to person/point to point tapping in the surrogate tapping, it makes it feel that much sweeter and richer.

GC COMMENT: And, remember, when you surrogate tap for someone else, you are helping yourself.

Thank you, Gary for giving us such a perfect foundation for all this.

Happy tapping to everyone!

Sharon
