The hand pain with many past events linked to it

EFt Tapping Outdated ImageNote: This is one of 3,000 articles written prior to the updated Gold Standard (Official) EFT Tapping Tutorial™. As a result, it is likely outdated. It provides practical uses for EFT Tapping but you should also explore our newest advancement, Optimal EFT, by reading our free e-book, The Unseen Therapist™, and/or get help from a Certified EFT Practitioner.

Note: This article assumes you have a working knowledge of EFT. Newcomers can still learn from it but are advised to peruse our Free Gold Standard (Official) EFT Tutorial™ for a more complete understanding.

Hi Everyone,

This detailed article from Karen Stock of Canada nicely illustrates how our physical issues can have more than one Specific Event attached to them. Read it carefully and note how many of these Specific Events just "showed up" while doing EFT.  I also make an upgrading comment at the end.  Please consult physicians on all medical issues.

Hugs, Gary

By Karen Stock

Dear Gary and EFT Friends,

While painting a large wooden deck and a long fence, nagging pain suddenly developed in my right hand. I thought I'd overdone it with painting and worried that I wouldn't be able to finish the rest of the job.

I started tapping on this pain in my right hand from all the painting but did not get any response. I thought that is strange and tapped again. Nothing happened. Then all of a sudden I received a memory that my hand once hurt in this spot from doing shot (in the US this event is known as the shot put) in track and field as a kid. We had to upgrade from the 3 kg shot iron ball to a 5 kg shot iron ball. I did not like the extra weight and my hand was sore after the first practice. I tapped some rounds on releasing the pain in my hand from doing shot:

Even though we had to do shot as a track and field discipline and I never liked this part...
Even though I was never good at shot, I am good at other things now like EFT.
Even though I hated shot, I am okay now without shot.
Even though I practiced to the best of my abilities that I could but never improved with it, I am releasing all frustration from this time.
Even though I never liked the whole set-up sequence of how you had to do shot, I let go of all tension and cramping from this time.

When I tapped with the last sentence I had some nice tension relief throughout my entire back from all the turning and twisting. Also the pain in my right hand was gone. That was great. After three days of rainy weather it was time to paint again. My hand was doing great but was a little bit sore at the end of the paint job. I tried to tap on the pain being from painting again but nothing happened. I went back to tap on the incident with the shot again and the pain subsided.

But the next day I woke up with a really sore hand. Again I tried to tap on painting but nothing happened. I tapped on shot but nothing happened. I said to myself 'I wonder what this is about this time,' while tapping on the karate chop spot on my right hand. Then the memories came back. I used to sail a lot. At times when the wind gets really strong one has to handle a lot of ropes (sheets, in sailing lingo) to tighten the sails. The sheets always cut into my hands. It hurt almost every time.

Even though my hand got hurt a lot during sailing with the ropes cutting into my right hand deeply...

I did this for a few rounds and the pain went down in intensity and then shot up again. Then I remembered while sailing on a small boat for the first time, the wind picked up and I had to find out that the cleats to hold down the sheets to keep the sails in place were not working on this boat. I had to hold the sheets the entire time. That was very annoying and hard and painful on my right hand.

Even though the cleats were not working, I had to hold the ropes with my hands the entire time and that cut into my hands...

While in the boat, the weather had turned rainy and cold. I was cold and wet and trying to maneuver the boat so it would not tip. All of this was a bit much for the first time sailing (but I still enjoyed it). I was holding a lot of tension in my hand, arms, shoulders and back from all of that. A bunch of us signaled that we wanted to get back to the dock but the sailing teacher shouted that we had to stay out on the water so we would get the experience. I had to tough it out with no cleats to give me a break.

Even though the weather turned nasty all of a sudden, I survived and I am fine now.
Even though the wind was so strong and it took such an effort to handle the sails...
Even though I was tense all over my body, I am relaxed now. I am releasing all remaining tension from this sailing adventure now.
Even though I was holding all this tension in my shoulders, my shoulders are relaxed now.
Even though I was really annoyed that the cleats did not work on my boat...
Even though I was mad at myself that I picked the boat with the worn out cleats...
Even though I was pissed that I had to struggle so much with holding the sheets instead of being able to enjoy the sail with more wind, I let go of my anger about this situation now (pain in my hand got stronger and then dropped).
Even though I was angry that the boats were not looked after better and that the cleats were not fixed especially since a lot of people came there for their first time sailing experiences, I let go of my struggle and the tension from that afternoon.

Some tension released from my shoulders but the pain in my hand had gotten really strong now (a full 10 on a scale of 0 to 10 or even more). The pain had spread to all the way up to my middle finger and the middle bone before the finger was really tender now. I thought it was strange as it had nothing to do with sailing. This was the exact same pain when I sprained my hand in grade 5 during a physical education class. I started to tap on the following:

Even though I sprained my hand in this physical education class...
Even though I sprained my hand on this horse jump, it is so long ago now, I can let this go.
Even though I am really mad at the teacher because all of a sudden she stepped into my jump and held my hands down which then caused the sprain...

I tapped several rounds on how mad I was at the teacher. More and more pain came out of my hand. I had to do other things and stopped tapping. My hand stayed tender and just before bed, I tapped again on how mad I still was at this teacher and more pain came to the surface. The next morning my hand was very sore. I knew I could not do much with my hand like this so I had to do something about it:

Even though this teacher ruined my brilliant jump (the teachers had put in a higher horse, a lot of students could not jump over this height anymore but I had figured it out how to do it), I am willing to let go since this is so long ago now.

Even though I am still mad at this teacher since she ruined my opportunity to shine like the sporty and popular boys, I am willing to forgive her.

Even though I am not really willing to forgive her since I could not impress the other students and especially not the sporty and popular boys, I am still really mad at her.

Even though I am really mad at this teacher since I could not impress this one boy that I really liked. I had hoped that he would take notice of my jump; I am trying to forgive her.

Even though I am still really mad at this teacher since my jump made no impression with her trying to help me, I forgive her since this is so long ago now and does not matter anymore.

After I had tapped two rounds on forgiving the teacher the pain in my hand went down a lot. The pain up to the middle finger was gone. Now there was only pain left in the lower hand were the sprain had been the strongest.

I kept tapping some more on the details of this event, being mad at the teacher and working on forgiving her. The pain went down to a 1 but it would not go down to a 0. I then tapped:

I am now releasing any kind of strain and pain from the painting.

The pain went to 0.5 and then to 0.2.

GC COMMENT: Kudos to Karen for digging into the Specific Events behind her pain.  Since she wrote this article, we have upgraded our understanding of Specific Events so that even more efficiency is possible.  See  Uncovering Specific Events - An Essential Concept Within the EFT Tapping Process.

Sincerely,

Karen Stock
