Successful EFT reframing of a Coke & Pepsi addiction

Important Note: This article was written prior to 2010 and is now outdated. Please use my newest advancement, Optimal EFT. It is more efficient, more powerful and clearly explained in my free e-book, The Unseen Therapist™.  Best wishes, Gary

Leslie Ross had a stubborn addiction to Coke and Pepsi that wouldn't budge ... not even with standard EFT. Eventually, however, she picked up a clue from my discussions on reframing and achieved success by adjusting her EFT approach. Her method can be generalized to many other issues so the idea here should have wide appeal.

By Leslie Ross

Dear Gary,

I have learned so many things using EFT, but there is one thing in particular that I would like to share with you.

I have tried many times and many different ways to end my cravings for soft drinks, specifically Coke and Pepsi - no success. Even success with EFT was minimal until I discovered something that has radically changed my life and the way I do EFT. It is nothing new to you. I have heard you mention "reframing" many times, but honestly I did not know what you meant or how to use the concept until...

In a flash of insight, probably because I was using EFT at the time, I realized that when I used the words "Coke" or "Pepsi" and even "soft drinks" my mind was being flooded with all the lies and propaganda that have been fed to me throughout my lifetime by advertising and even doctors and nurses in hospitals. When I stopped using those terms it was magical.

Now, I never use those two words in my thoughts or in my spoken words. Instead I refer to that brown, toxic liquid laced with tons of sugar, chemicals and addictive drugs.

EFT went like this:

Even though I have this craving for that brown toxic liquid that is laced with tons of sugar, chemicals and addictive drugs I deeply and completely love and accept myself

Even though I have let myself be duped by those advertisers...

Even though I have let myself be negatively influenced by those doctors, nurses and hospital staff ...(they always gave me that brown toxic liquid when I was ill)

Even though I crave that brown toxic liquid first thing in the morning at work...

Even though I crave that brown toxic liquid when I go to the movies...

Those seemingly hopeless cravings for that brown toxic liquid went away very quickly and are now a far distant memory.

I have used this method of "reframing" my thoughts and words about other things as well and it has been very effective.

Sincerely,

Leslie Ross
