Soccer performance--EFT or coincidence?

Hi Everyone,

Laura Campbell's post (repeated below) regarding an apparent EFT inspired athletic improvement of her daughter's soccer team may be one of the most important business posts you will read.

While one's physical conditioning and innate talents are prerequisites to athletic performance, every accomplished athlete on the planet will tell you emphatically that the emotional (mental) component is critical. It is often the difference between winning and losing and thus between big money and little money. I know what I am talking about here because I walked in those circles for 10 years (I was scouted by several professional baseball teams and went through Stanford on a football scholarship).

There is a HUGE untapped market for EFT in the areas of sports. We covered golf earlier but these procedures apply to ALL other sports--no exceptions. It doesn't matter what level, either. From Little League to the Super Bowl. From tennis to baseball. From ping-pong to boxing.

I know many may be hesitant to enter this arena because "you don't know how." Well, hardly any therapist has experience in these areas, so don't feel alone. However, someone is going to do it and many will reap BIG rewards. That's a guarantee. Why not you?

A Grin from the Greed Glands, Gary

Hello everyone,

A quick, lite story to consider. My 12 year old daughter plays soccer on a fairly new team. They played in a tournament this weekend. My daughter hurt her leg in the first game Saturday, so I was trying to get her to tap on it. She was embarrassed in front of her friends, but one of them asked me to show her how to do it. All the girls were sitting on the ground in front of me and as I demonstrated for one, they all began to tap.

Their next game was against a team that usually beats them by 8 or 9 points (in soccer, that's a slaughter). Some of them were intimidated prior to tapping. At half-time, they were ahead 1-0. My daughter came in the 2nd half and yelled at me "Mom, we tapped and we're winning". She later told me they even tapped at half-time (she knows how to do it). All the parents were raving about how great the girls were playing. They lost the game 2-1, but they never gave up and played with "heart".

They tapped before their first game on Sunday and won. They had 15 minutes before they had to play an undefeated team in First Place in the tournament. The coach even asked me to do that "meditation thing you did" before the last game. I lead them in tapping for their tension and sore

muscles and then for best performance. I did get them to do 9 gamut to help them focus. They played another excellent game, never gave up and lost by only 2 scores.

Now, did EFT make a difference? I think so. They all played better than I've seen them play-less mistakes, better coordination, got their foot on the ball, ran hard, had fun! Granted, this is not scientific evidence, but it's interesting! I'd like to hear from some of you sports therapists on how to use EFT most effectively in these situations and with athletes in general.

Happy tapping,

Laura Campbell, BCSW
