Fear of dogs disappears as EFT is used on an "unremembered memory"

Hi Everyone,

Dr. Fred Feldstein's client, Laurie, was fearful of dogs and would often be reduced to tears in their presence. The likely cause was an event that occurred when Laurie was a baby. However, Laurie had no recollection of this event and had only been told about it by her mother. Note how Dr. Feldstein approaches the problem.

Hugs, Gary

Dr. Fred Feldstein

I had the opportunity to work with an incredibly sweet woman named Laurie who had been afraid of dogs all her life. She is 63 years old, and was never able to pet a dog, or even be near one. She asked me if I could help her, so I told her it would be my pleasure to try.

I use muscle testing a lot to validate whether the body has disruptions in the electrical energy for the specific issues that the client wants to work on. So I tested Laurie for the statement "I'm OK being around a dog and petting a dog" for which her arm weakened.

I asked Laurie if there was a particular event that she remembered when her dog phobia began. She told me that although she doesn't remember consciously this event because she was 8 months old when this happened, the story has been recounted to her numerous times throughout her life by her mother.

Her mother tells the story that she was a baby lying on a blanket on the lawn at her home in Georgia, when a rabid, mad dog got loose and on to her family's property. The dog was salivating, and approaching baby Laurie. The mother saw this but was too far from Laurie to do anything, so she started screaming, "my baby, my baby, somebody please help me." Just then, Laurie's father came out of the house with a shotgun and shot the dog.

Subconsciously, your body remembers everything, and Laurie was reminded of this event intermittently throughout her life. So we worked on releasing this traumatic memory when she was a baby, and all the current fears that she held presently.

"Even though I was a baby and couldn't do anything to protect myself......."

"Even though all dogs are mean and want to hurt me,....."

Even though I am afraid to get near a dog because it might bite me...."

"Even though I am afraid to pet all dogs big and small because they might hurt me....."

We then used some choice statements such as:

"I choose to be calm and relaxed around dogs..."

"I choose to feel safe petting dogs......"

"I choose to believe that not all dogs are mean and want to hurt me....."

Laurie's intensity went down significantly, from a 10 at the start to a 0-1, when we finished. She also muscle tested strongly on the previous statement that had weakened her arm. She told me that she was going to go to her sister's house, and see how she reacted around her sister's dog, Kimi, who she was always deathly afraid of. If the dog ever got near her accidentally, she would start crying. But she felt good enough to test it, and she went over that afternoon. Kimi is an Alaskan Malimut, and for those of you who don't know dogs, it is a very large, beautiful dog, but can absolutely look very intimidating.

Laurie, brought in a picture the next day of her petting and holding Kimi from later that day when we tapped, and she said she had no fear at all. She is now fine with all kinds of dogs, even dogs that come up upon her in the park that she doesn't even know. Laurie is so grateful to EFT for allowing her to get over her life long fear, and be relaxed regardless of whether there are dogs around or not!
