Golf score improves after childhood memories are resolved

Important Note: This article was written prior to 2010 and is now outdated. Please use my newest advancement, Optimal EFT. It is more efficient, more powerful and clearly explained in my free e-book, The Unseen Therapist™.  Best wishes, Gary

Hi Everyone,

Those familiar with golf are quite aware that our unresolved emotional issues often show up in technicolor on the golf course. Our angers, guilts, stresses, frustrations and the like often affect the "inner game" that goes on in all sports. Alyson Raworth from Scotland recognized this in her golfing client and professionally collapsed some childhood issues. The result? An improved golf score and an invitation for me to play golf for free in Scotland! Oh my.

An acquaintance was having a golf putting problem - he kept having three putts per hole and couldn't get his head around the problem. The more he worried, the worse it got. I said I would "have a bash at it" and that if it didn't improve he would get a full refund. (Yes, I was confident!)

The problem started when playing in a medal (competition) and "he let someone down" by missing an easy putt. It wasn't helped by the other golfer who remonstrated with him and proceeded to tell the whole clubhouse how he had been let down. The thought of that incident alone made him anxious and his 0-10 level of intensity was at an 8.

We tapped for " I let people down, made my partner look a numpty (foolish), made myself look foolish, everyone looking at me, my ears turning red, feeling ashamed, being in the spotlight".

His intensity level went down from 8 to 4 to 0 (eventually) Yes!!

But........we weren't finished there. Even before this had come to mind we found that there was a childhood incident where he was picked upon and made the "focus of attention". He could feel his face burning with embarrassment. He said the feeling was the same as when he had played in the medal. We went through many childhood incidents - all related to being embarrassed and letting people down.

One tapping sequence I suggested was that he had maybe let himself down! That got a big reaction!

"Even though I can't be perfect all the time, I always try my best and if my best isn't good enough for anyone I forgive them. I forgive myself, and I love and accept myself". Intensity level on that aspect was now down to 0. Now it had to be put to the test!

2 weeks later....... Putting great now but a couple of shanks when driving had brought up focus on that, so tapping for driving "Straight down the middle" (done to Bing Crosby song) and getting "comfort zone" from 7 to 4. I also made up a little ditty to sell this thought to himself!

4 Weeks after first visit his demeanour had changed, he was more positive and could think about how his comfort zone affected his game. After his last good game I suggested going to sleep with that positive game in his mind and to focus on all the good shots he had had.

At last!...2 months after first visit he taps away on daily issues and is so happy with his golf...and....his handicap is down! (Yes! Yes! Yes!)

He sends greeting to you Gary and.... if you are in Scotland any time and would like a game of golf - it's his treat!! (Being Scottish, that is an offer you can't refuse!)

Love and Peace to all,

Alyson Raworth
