Hi Everyone,

Here's an interesting case that most of us can benefit by. An EFT'er, call her Sherry, called me last night with a headache (a 7). She had been using EFT on it most of the day but was making no headway. She was losing faith. Maybe EFT "didn't work any more."

I helped her over the phone and made a little headway (down to a 5) but it came right back up almost immediately. This coming-back-up-immediately feature is sometimes indicative of energy toxins but I never make that conclusion unless all other avenues have been exhausted.

Sherry felt her headache was caused by some unusual forms of turmoil, consternation and backbiting in her workplace. She felt she was being unduly treated and this resulted in her headache. In her words, the gravity of this problem was so great that she was obsessing about it. Hmmm.

Obviously, aiming EFT at "this headache" wasn't doing the job (as it usually does) so I chose to search a little deeper into the emotions. She told me she had great anger about it. So we tapped for "this anger at [specific instance]". Some relief. Then she told me that her sense of failure seemed to be popping up so we tapped for "all the failure I've had all my life." I know that's a little global but that's what we did. More relief.

Both psychology and spirituality contain within them the concept of projection. This notion suggests that emotions like anger at a situation such as Sherry was facing may well be the projection by Sherry of her personal negative emotions. With projection, the situation itself is deemed neutral. It only seems aggravating to Sherry because she uses it as a screen on which she (actually, all of us) can seemingly place blame, anger, frustration, etc. in an attempt to "get it out of me" and "put it out there on someone else." I never know for sure what is going on in anyone else's head (do any of us know this?) but I was willing to try this new angle since we seemed to be making headway along these lines.

Accordingly, I immediately shifted the focus of the situation from Sherry's anger at the situation to the various negative emotions she was seemingly projecting about herself. She began to do The Setup as follows: "I deeply and completely accept myself even though...

"...I have failed too often during my life."

"...I am angry at myself for causing this whole thing."

"...I carry around this "big one" I'm not willing to look at."

etc.

On each round the headache came down and, interestingly enough, it's descent was due almost entirely to The Setup affirmations. In a matter of minutes an extended and stubborn headache fell to zero.

The lesson here? Sherry got her result because we were persistent and willing to be a bit creative in what we addressed. With EFT, there is usually a way. Your confidence will grow with this process as your persistence and creativity take you to new levels. The more of this you do, the more confidence you gain and the more positive Personal Radiations you put out to your clients.

Also, when EFT doesn't seem to be working while addressing the "presenting problem," you might reverse your thinking and use EFT to address what negativity about themselves the client might be projecting onto the situation.

Hope this helps!

Peace, Gary
