How EFT stopped 2 young boys from crying at the barbershop - a lesson in surrogate tapping

Hi Everyone,

Barbers often have major problems trying to cut the hair of fearful youngsters. The crying, whining and restlessness make the process a real chore. Dr. Fred Feldstein provided a solution by surrogate tapping for two young boys.

By Dr. Fred Feldstein

I took my son Lucas with me to get a haircut. Lucas was 2 1/2 at the time and has cried every single time he has ever gotten a haircut. The barber must deal with this probelm a lot because he put in a jeep mounted to a chair pedestal with a VCR/DVD combo for the kids just for this reason. In order for Lucas to even get his haircut, he would have to sit on my lap, but still cried. As Gary says, "Try it on everything" so I did.

While I was getting my haircut, and Lucas was sitting in the Jeep, watching a Dora the Explorer video, getting ready to get his haircut, he had already started to cry and whine "I don't want to get my haircut". So I tapped on the karate chop point surrogately for Lucas under the hair cutting gown that I was wearing, "Even though I don't want to get my haircut ... Even though I don't want someone touching my hair....Even though I am afraid of the scissors and getting hair in my eyes....I'm still a terrific kid"

When I realized that the barber might think I was doing something obscene under the gown, I very quickly explained to him what I was doing. Now I had his interest. He wanted to see if it worked. When he went to give Lucas his haircut, Lucas fussed for a second and then just relaxed and didn't say a word. He didn't cry for the first time ever getting his haircut. That was also the last time that he has cried at the barbershop, and that was 6 months and 6 haircuts ago!

The next time, I took Lucas to get a haircut, the barber was still talking about it. He pointed to a boy behind me who was waiting to get his haircut, and was crying already, and the barber hadn't touched him yet. He said that this boy was really bad about getting his haircut, and so I decided to surrogately tap for the little boy whom I didn't know, and told the barber about what I was going to do. A couple of rounds and the boy was still crying so I left with my son, thinking that it didn't work.

Don't assume that the results have to come immediately. The next time I got my haircut, I was talking to the barber about the tapping I had done for the little boy, and that I was disappointed that it didn't work. He said don't be so sure that it didn't. The boy had been in for his next haircut 3 days prior to me, and the barber said it was the first time that the little boy hadn't cried while getting his haircut!

Call it coincidence, but I believe that sometimes tapping has a delayed response, and so did the barber! Now the barber wants me to teach him EFT so he doesnt have to go home from work with a headache.

Love, Light & Gratitude,

Dr. Fred Feldstein
