Hi Everyone,

Observe how Jan Luther applies EFT to her twin grand-daughters. Working with children often requires creativity and special care and Jan's approach provides good examples.

Hugs, Gary

I have had several one minute wonders with people with phobias but none have been so close to my heart as helping my own twin granddaughters get over their sudden water terror.

These two beauties were born 6 weeks early- their Momma has done an amazing job of taking care of them and their older brother (now 5).  To look at them now you would never know that they began life weighing in at around 4 pounds each.

They had both loved bath time and water play until they had to have tubes put in their ears because of re-occurring infections.  The day they came home from the procedure they would not let their parents bathe them without getting hysterical.

It was a couple of weeks before they came to see me and their Mom asked if we could bathe them in my big garden tub.  We speculated that it was more about the confined space and the sound of water that had upset them.

We were wrong.

We ran the water in the tub and each of us undressed one of the babies. Alize is about a pound heavier than Sarina and she (Alize) is our little tomboy.  She is one of those kids that bounces up after falling and rarely cries about 'owies'.  Alize allowed us to place her in the tub but she continued to cry out. I finally asked their mom if I could try some EFT on them and she agreed.  (Oh, happy day!!!)  I sat with Alize and tapped only on her face points gently saying..

"I'm a good girl.. Mommy will always keep me safe. I am loved"

I varied that phrase inserting "Gramma loves me"

After a few rounds she sighed deeply and then I put her feet in the water and she allowed me to sit her down.  All the while she was randomly 'crying out' as if she was not sure if she was unhappy or not, so I tapped another round.

"I love water.  It feels so good.  Gramma and Momma Love me and they will always take care of me"

After two rounds she became occupied with the toys and was just sniffing a bit. She seemed clear.

As I took Sarina from her Mom she literally clawed my shoulders trying to hold on and stay away from the bathtub..(Oh, my aching heart- we love to watch babies play in the water!) so I moved away from the tub an just began tapping her with several rounds very quietly and very gently.

"I am a good girl. Whatever happened to me it is over.. I am safe with Momma and Gramma.."

"I love to play in the water."

"Alize will play with me; we are safe"

"I am a good girl..everyone loves me"

I moved her closer to the tub and she looked at her sister playing. then she sort of leaned forward and wanted to get in the tub so I put her in.  Joyfully her Mom and I watched them play with full hearts and I had teary eyes.

A few months later our family went on vacation to Idaho.  The twins and their family joined us and two of the days we went boating.  We found it very interesting that Sarina LOVED the boat ride but Alize would not even let us carry her out onto the dock.

As her mother and I talked it occurred to me that Sarina had received a much longer EFT treatment and it must have cleared her energy deeper than we did with Alize.  I did a bit of EFT with Alize but she really wasn't interested so I let it go.

We have not had the opportunity to test Alize around water on a boat yet but she certainly loves her bath time again.

Thanks to you Gary for bringing us EFT. These precious babies will be able to enjoy water and water sports without the fear.

Love and Hugs,

Jan Luther

Bath time LINK: In fact, I am attaching the link my daughter sent me that following week that shows them both playing in the sink at their home..Alize is on the left and Sarina is on the right.  Alize is not splashing much but she is perfectly contented to play in the water.
