Tapping on love pain leads Marta to her traumatic birth experience

Hi Everyone,

This article by Marta Laurent of Spain is a fabulous example of how tapping for one problem can bring up major, seemingly unrelated, core issues. This happens with some frequency and, when it does, it can save a lot of detective work.

Hugs, Gary

By Marta Laurent

Dear Gary,

I want to share with you the experience I had recently, which I think it is probably one of the most important healings in my whole life.

I was home alone meditating, when I started crying about the man I love, who says he isn't ready to love anyone yet.  Oh well, it hurt but it wasn't a big deal really.  So I started tapping and then I started remembering images about my own birth.

I had a traumatic birth experience: I almost suffocated to death when meconium (the first excrement of a baby) got into my nose before I was born.  They had to transfer me to another hospital where they saved my life, although the doctors told my parents I might become blind, deaf or retarded because of that.  I had to spend a few days in the incubator, and then my mom got hepatitis and was forced to stay away from me for many additional days.

So I started focusing in my birth suffering, and the pain was so intense I thought I wouldn’t be able to stand it.  I tried to tap, but the crying and the fear stopped me from doing it.  I thought I couldn't handle it alone.  But I've always been strong and brave, so in the end I gathered enough strength to start tapping.  And my sentences evolved in an illuminating way!

I skipped the setup "Even though..." sentence because the pain was too hard, so I concentrated directly in what made me suffer at the moment.

I am so scared of dying.

I'm suffocating. (actually, at that point my nose was completely plugged with mucus so I really felt a bit like I was suffocating and needed to blow my nose hard a few times).

No one seems to want to help me.

They are hitting me.

They are putting tubes on me.

I don't understand, I'm scared.

My mom is not here, I want my mom.

My mom doesn't love me.

It is my fault my mom doesn't love me, because I'm creating her problems "from the beginning".

I need to hide to everyone that I'm a source of problems, or no one will ever love me.

I have to be always perfect, a good girl, to get someone to love me.

If I'm not perfect, nobody will ever love me.

Little by little, I started calming down and stopped crying, and in the end I was able to do a whole round repeating all of these sentences at each tapping point without feeling pain nor suffering anymore.  Then I decided to do a positive round saying, I am a wonderful woman, I have plenty of love to give and I allow myself to receive love in return.

And there I was, smiling and feeling calm and confident, and much lighter.  Releasing all this pain has been the most beautiful experience I've had with EFT, and I'll keep my eyes open to see big changes in my attitude and life from now on.

So thank you for having shared your technique with me!  I've passed it to some friends of mine and they are enthusiastic about EFT as well!

All my best,
