Hi Everyone,

Tim Watts from London shows us how resolving an emotional issue (a specific event) completely resolves a 6 year case of itchy eyes.

Hugs, Gary

Hi Gary

I absolutely love receiving the EFT Newsletter, there's so much to learn, and its teachings propel me to want to do more and more and more with EFT.

Having realized that (for the moment) I am "meant" to be practicing EFT, like a sponge I lap up every last bit of info on your newsletters, I get so much hope each time I read and reread the articles and suggestions.

I wanted to share with you a case where I was working with Annette (not her real name).  Annette had been suffering from a long lasting "itchy eye" feeling that had been with her for over 6 years.  Her eyes itched like crazy, especially first thing in the morning, and despite her doctor's best efforts it just would not seem to clear up.  It made her angry and depressed at times.  Nothing seemed to work.

I said EFT still may not completely clear up the soreness but was definitely worth a shot on seeing if we could reduce the discomfort.  We began the session with identifying tension in the body, and she immediately pointed out that she always carries around lots of tension in her shoulders that travels up to her neck.  Her level of intensity for neck tension was about an 8 on a scale of 0 to 10.

I'm not sure why but I asked her if it was OK for us to do the session standing, and with me tapping on her.  She agreed and we used set up statements such as:

Even though I have this shoulder tension…

Even though I carry this weight on my shoulders, I deeply and completely love and accept all of me, even the parts that hurt.

We went through the whole sequence, including the 9-Gamut on the first round and we both breathed a huge sigh (I know of practitioners who burp or sigh, I always take big breaths or sigh in a session, and this seems to be a good indicator that we are making progress).  She reported a level of intensity of 6 on a scale of 0 to 10.  After 2 more rounds her level of intensity fell below a 1 out of 10.  We agreed that it was at a level comfortable to focus on the itchy eyes.

The level of intensity of the itchiness was at around 6 out of 10 for Annette.  We applied the basic recipe with the setup statement being "this itchy eye feeling".  After 4 rounds of tapping through the points from the top of the head to under the arm, we only got down to a level of intensity of 4 out of 10.

Personally I watch out for my own impatience when working through issues, as I have in the past become frustrated with the level of intensity not reducing as fast as I would like it to (me playing God basically!), and I switch to getting myself out of the way.  This usually means I haven't asked enough questions, and left out vital detective work that holds the key to allow God, the Spirit, or Healing energy (whichever your beliefs) to work through the client and release the block within the meridian system.

As soon as I 'get in the way' and think that I am the Magic One doing the healing, I'm headed for trouble.  A deep breath and a few more questions surrounding the issue brings me back out of myself and opens the client up for healing again.  This has been my experience anyway.

So, I asked Annette about the first time she experienced this itchy eye feeling, and replied that she couldn't remember.  Using my intuition, I asked her to repeat this statement 3 times, while I tapped her KC Point:

Even though I can't remember when my eye started hurting…

She blurted out "I remember!  We were on a skiing holiday, and one of the women we were on holiday, who I really didn't like very much, had a big swelling around her eyes.  I can remember thinking, 'oooh that looks disgusting!'  And then the very next day I had a swelling feeling in my eye and I thought 'that b**** has given me her conjunctivitis!'  I couldn't believe it!"

She continued to say how it ruined the holiday, and how upset she was that she couldn't ski.  By this point we had plenty of aspects to tap on, and so we singled each one out until her level of intensity on each aspect dropped to at least below a 1 out of 10.  As you can imagine, just prior to working on each aspect her level of intensity on her itchy eyes rose up to as much as an 8 out of 10, now with a burning sensation.

I kept saying "this is great, we're making progress!", which she gave me a puzzled look each time … I later explained that each time her level of intensity increased, this meant we were uncovering more aspects to collapse which would mean greater success.  She still was not too sure.

We continued to tap on each aspect, until I asked her to run a Mental Movie over the whole incident in question, and she said that there was a weightlessness about the whole situation, and that the memory of the woman who she may have caught the infection from, was that of a soft, smiling face, with lovely bright eyes.  Yes!

Not convinced that we were completely done, I asked her to see if she could try and get some intensity about it.  She replied, "It just isn't there any more, I don't care about it."

Great! This whole session took just under 1 hour.  We finished the session with some great Energy Exercises that Donna Eden created such as the 3 thumps, cross crawl, spinal flush, and the zip up.  I love these exercises for finishing a session off, especially if the client has things to do still in the day.

Six month follow-up on the tapping session:

Annette:  "Over coffee, a friend of mine told me how her eyes had been hurting, and it struck me that I haven't felt any discomfort whatsoever since our session.  I completely forgot about it.  Do you think this can work for things like anxiety?"

Tim:  "We try it on everything!"

Since the follow up, we have worked through a number of family related issues with great success.  Annette no longer feels the need to carry all this weight on her shoulders and continues to tap herself when she feels her anxiety rising.  Truly remarkable, I feel privileged to be a part of this amazing healing tool and community.

Big HUGS,

Tim Watts
