Knee pain is relieved after tapping on forgiveness

Hi Everyone,

Using EFT for forgiveness is a theme that often brings physical relief where everything else fails. This case by Steve Rich points to this mind-body phenomenon. He says, "I could detect a forgiveness issue in this situation and I love to work with people who have pain connected to a need to forgive. As soon as they forgive, the pain almost always disappears."

Hugs, Gary

Dear Gary,

I like to use EFT as often as I can in teaching my middle school students, so they all know where the tapping points are and what to say. During a parent teacher conference towards the end of last year, a student's mother, (I'll call the student Helen), mentioned that she has lived with constant pain in her knees for 15 years. Later, I had a chance to talk to Helen about her mother's knee pain.

Ever since learning EFT, I find myself looking for opportunities to show people how they can improve their lives. Helen related that her mom's knee pain came from an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver. Because of the severe pain, her mother had the worst knee replaced and plans to just live with the pain in the other knee which is a level of intensity of approximately a five on a scale of 0 to 10. I explained to Helen that if she would show her mom the tapping points and how to tap, that EFT might help her reduce the pain. Helen didn't feel comfortable tapping on her mom because she didn't know what to say. She then asked if I could help her mom over the phone.

I could detect a forgiveness issue in this situation and I love to work with people who have pain connected to a need to forgive. As soon as they forgive, the pain almost always disappears. So I agreed to walk Helen's mom through the tapping sequence if she would call me.

With only a week left in the school year I had still not made contact with Helen's mother. Helen and I had a good relationship so I teasingly told her that if her mom didn't call me before I got the grades into the computer, she would be "FLUNKING". That did the trick because by week's end Helen's mom called me from their cabin cruiser on a nearby lake. We tapped.

Even though ...(I had her say the drunk driver's name) caused the accident and I now live with knee pain, I forgive him.

Even though the accident was Mr. (driver's name again)'s fault, he didn't cause it on purpose and I forgive him.

Even though I am living with knee pain because Mr.(driver's name) was driving drunk, I forgive him. I'm sure his pain of knowing what he did is as bad as my pain and I forgive him completely. I forgive the doctors who couldn't fix my knee. I forgive anyone who had anything to do with this accident and I forgive myself for holding on to this anger for so long.

After three rounds Helen's mom had no pain. Gary's words that "You are never through until you test" are so important that I had this mother walk all around her boat to see if she could find any remaining pain.  There was no pain at all.

Two days later I met Helen's mom at the community swimming pool where our school was celebrating the year's academic success and she was still pain free. Forgiveness is something we all need to do and EFT is just waiting to help us improve our lives as soon as we truly forgive.

Thanks Gary for your efforts to share EFT with the world
