Ask Gary

Ask Gary: Does EFT Remove ALL of the Negative Emotions?

No!  This is a myth often found on the internet.

Liz Hart from New Zealand asks this question in the Skype video below.  In the answer, I give an example of a height phobia and mention that properly performed EFT removes the excess, unnecessary emotion.  It does not, however, remove the entire fear.  Happily, it leaves a useful caution that keeps them from jumping off the building.

This same idea is true for all other emotions. With grief, for example, EFT can remove the excess heaviness of the loss of a loved one while still retaining a normal degree of sadness and respect for the departed person.
