Does it Still Serve a Purpose?

Does it Still Serve a Purpose?

Is a flower, still a flower,
If one removes the bloom?
Does it still serve a purpose,
With no nectar or perfume?

Can it feed the honeybee,
Or glisten in the dew?
Move a heart to splendor,
With it's gentle painted hue?

Although it's roots are growing,
Yet hidden in the ground,
Is a flower, still a flower,
When it's beauty can't be found!

Is a star, still a star,
If it does not shine it's light?
Does it still serve a purpose,
When it can't be seen at night?

Can it be a beacon,
Or twinkle in the sky?
Reflecting off to others,
As they are passing by?

Although it still travels,
On it's predestined way,
Is a star, still a star,
With no light to give away!

Is an angel, still an angel,
If you clip her feathery wings?
Does she still serve a purpose,
With the mournful songs she sings?

Can she still move freely,
Within another's heart?
Speaking words of wisdom,
With a message to impart?

Although she's still connected,
To the heavens up above,
Is an angel, still an angel,
When no ones around to love!

Is love still considered love,
If it's hidden and denied?
Does it still serve a purpose,
When it's buried under pride?

Can it fill an inner longing,
When no time is made?
With no acts of emotions,
Ever being displayed?

Although it's burning brightly,
And the flames still flare and rise,
Is love still considered love,
When hidden from other's eyes!
